Rather than ask people to commit to what can sometimes seem like a lifetime position, we call these 'ongoing project positions'. There is a 6 month re-assessment for each position when we evaluate how they are in their projects and how they feel about continuing, including a 2 month "phase out" if they are tired/bored/frustrated/not capable, etc., or, a 6 month recommitment if they're still interested & HT is thrilled to have them.
